Programmable Universal Converter
This is a cut down design of a Pro Action Replay (similar to Game Genie or Gameshark) that lacks the memory editing/cheating capability and functions solely as an adapter for running games that do not match the region of the console. Datel had two of these products for the Super Nintendo, the first, simply called “Universal Converter” was similar to most import adaptors. This however is a later model that worked around more advanced regional locking techniques employed by Nintendo later in the platforms life. This device includes an onscreen interface at boot which allows selecting particular override options. Packaging for this product was similar to the Pro Action Replay Mk II, while the earlier product mirrored the original Pro Action Replay.
