Xbox 360

The Xbox 360 is a seventh generation home video game console developed by Microsoft, succeeding the Original Xbox. First launched in November 2005, it competed against Sony’s PlayStation 3 and Nintendoโ€™s Wii.

Unlike its predecessor and successors, which were i86/x64 based, the Xbox 360 used a PowerPC architecture (not unlike the contemporaneous PlayStation 3), and in later models would use a semi-custom SoC.

In addition to Xbox 360 software, the platform provides inbuilt emulation to be backwards compatible with a significant number of original Xbox titles.
