Nintendo DS

The Nintendo DS is a seventh generation handheld game console produced by Nintendo. The device released globally across 2004 and 2005, it competed against the PlayStation Portable. The DS introduced distinctive new features including two LCD screens, one a touch screen, a built-in microphone and support for wireless connectivity (802.11b). Prior to its release, the Nintendo DS was intended to complement the Game Boy Advance (GBA) family and GameCube. However, backward compatibility with GBA titles and strong sales ultimately established it as the successor to the Game Boy series.
