New Pokémon Snap
New Pokémon Snap is a first-person rail shooter developed by Bandai Namco Studios and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch. It is a sequel to the 1999 game Pokémon Snap for the Nintendo 64.
Description
In the New Pokémon Snap the player takes on the role of a Pokémon photographer who is tasked with taking pictures of various Pokémon in their natural habitats. The player travels on a predefined route through various environments, such as jungles, beaches, and deserts, while taking pictures of the Pokémon they encounter.
The game features over 200 different Pokémon species from various generations of the Pokémon franchise. Players can use different tools, such as fruit to lure Pokémon and a scanner to identify them, to interact with the Pokémon and capture their best shots. The game uses a scoring system, where pictures are evaluated based on criteria such as pose, size, and placement. Players can share their photos online and compete with other players for the highest scores.
New Pokémon Snap also includes a story mode, where the player helps a Pokémon researcher investigate a mysterious phenomenon known as the Illumina phenomenon, which causes Pokémon to emit a glowing aura.
