Bundled in Set
Description
The Mega Drive 2 introduced a smaller, lighter console design, and Sega revised its power supply accordingly. The Japanese adapter, sold under the code SA‑190, accepts 100V mains input and delivers a regulated DC 10V at 1.0A with centre‑negative polarity through a standard barrel plug.
In Japan the adapter was packaged with the console and also sold separately, ideal if you needed to use the console in two locations. The adapter’s specifications differ from the earlier Mega Drive 1 supply, which used a heavier transformer design and output 9V at higher amperage. The SA‑190’s lighter build reflects Sega’s shift toward more compact, efficient peripherals in the 1990s.
