Dreamcast Vibration Pack
A haptic feedback accessory that adds vibration effects to Dreamcast games, enhancing tactile response during play.
Description
The Dreamcast Vibration Pack is a small module that plugs into the expansion slot of the Dreamcast controller, alongside or in place of a Visual Memory Unit. It provides vibration feedback triggered by in‑game events such as collisions, explosions, or environmental effects. The accessory is powered directly through the controller and does not require separate batteries.
Functionally, the Vibration Pack works in supported titles by delivering short or sustained rumble effects, similar to the Rumble Pak for Nintendo 64 or the DualShock controller for PlayStation. It can be used in combination with a VMU, as the controller is versatile with two slots. This allowed both memory storage and vibration feedback at the same time, which was the most common use of the slots. Alternatively two memory cards could be used for file management or other accessories if needed e.g. the Microphone.
On the The Vibration Pack added a new layer of immersion to supported titles. Rumble effects were effective in action and racing games, although it was not universally supported across the library. The
