RF Switch
Description
Late model manual RF output switch for PAL Master System and Mega Drive (original model). This RF Switch was included with both late Master System and early Mega Drive systems during the early 1990s.
Up to the original Mega Drive, Sega consoles contained an internal RF modulator and this was the primary and sometimes only way to transmit video signals. Later Mega Drive models and Sega consoles moved toward multi-pin AV outputs that could support direct composite, Y/C s-video, and RGB output formats. RF output was later maintained through an external modulator, a ‘RF unit’ would contain both a modulator and switch provided support for older displays.
