LittleBigPlanet PS Vita: Marvel Super Hero Edition presents the familiar creative platforming of the LittleBigPlanet series while adding a comic‑book flavour through Marvel characters and scenarios. The narrative framework remains centred on Sackboy’s journey through Carnivalia, a fairground world threatened by the Evil Puppeteer, but the edition expands the experience with superhero‑themed diversions. The tone blends playful invention with licensed character appeal, situating the game as both a continuation of the series and a crossover with Marvel’s universe.

The game retains the touch‑based controls of the PS Vita, using the front screen, rear touch pad, and motion sensors to manipulate environments and objects. Players can create and share levels, access community content, and dress Sackboy or Sackgirl in costumes drawn from Marvel’s roster, including Iron Man, Spider‑Man, Thor, Hulk, Captain America, Daredevil, and others. The three additional mini‑games: Avengers: Ultimate Escape, S.H.I.E.L.D. Interceptor, and Hero Rush, introduce short, arcade‑style challenges built around Marvel heroes.

At launch the game offered strong value by combining the award‑winning handheld release with Marvel extras, although the mini‑games were modest compared with the depth of the main campaign. Retrospectively the title is a distinctive variant within the LittleBigPlanet catalogue, a creative crossover that extended the series’ ethos of play, create, and share, into licensed territory.
