2160p 4K

With the introduction of the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, 4K/Ultra HD gaming has become available on consoles. The terms 2160p and 4K relate to the vertical and horizontal resolutions respectively (although technically the consumer 4K spec is just under 4K unlike the cinema equivilent). Like the migration to HD gaming, 4K gaming is a transition period. Both initial platforms provide an opportunity for existing titles to be patched/updated to support newer functions, including faster frame rates (often upgraded to 60fps over 30), 4K resolutions, and HDR.

This tag applies to software titles that support 4K output, whether on release or through an online update, regardless of the internal rendering resolution (which, for both consoles, particularly the PS4 Pro, is often sub-4K).
