Perfect Dark Zero Limited Edition

パーフェクトダーク ゼロ リミテッドエディション

A launch title for the Xbox 360, is a prequel to the original Perfect Dark and marks Joanna Dark’s first outing in HD.

Description

Perfect Dark Zero blends first-person shooting with stealth mechanics and a cover system that shifts gameplay into third-person view—an ambitious move for the genre at the time. Players follow Joanna, a bounty hunter turned agent, as she battles a rival corporation seeking a mysterious artefact that grants superhuman powers.

The campaign spans 14 missions and supports both solo and co-op play, while the multiplayer mode allows up to 32 players in various deathmatch and objective-based formats. Though praised for its graphics and expansive multiplayer options, critics were divided on its single-player experience, citing uneven voice acting and a convoluted story. In retrospect it plays unfortunately poorly, with very loose (nearly jelly like!) controls, and odd creative decisions. Despite the mixed reviews, Perfect Dark Zero sold over a million copies and later found a second life in the Rare Replay compilation for Xbox One. It’s unfortunately a mostly forgotten title from the start of what would become a great generation of games.
