Dragon Ball Z: Sparking! NEO
ドラゴンボールZ Sparking! NEOA large scale 3D battle action game that turns anime fights into free flying arena combat and pose based special moves.
Description
Dragon Ball Z: Sparking! NEO presents the series as open 3D battles across land, sky, and underwater spaces, with more than 130 fighters drawn from Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, the theatrical films, and Dragon Ball GT. The main story mode, Dragon Adventure, follows material from the Saiyan arc through the GT arc in an RPG style structure.
Gameplay uses the Wii Remote for attacks and the Nunchuk for movement, with special moves activated through gestures that copy poses from the anime, such as pulling the controller back and thrusting forwards to fire a Kamehameha. The game also supports the Classic Controller and GameCube Controller, giving the Wii release both motion based play and a more conventional control option. Battles include real time transformations, 2 against 2 combination battles, and fusion or Potara combinations for specific character pairings. Beyond Dragon Adventure, the game includes ranked battles, tournament play, and other modes for a total of ten modes, which gives the package more structure than a simple versus fighter.
The Wii version keeps builds upon the PlayStation 2 release, adding new characters and stages. The game is a stronger second entry in the Sparking! line, noting the larger roster, the Transform D system, faster loading and extra Wii content. Despite the movement and presentation remaining repetitive and uneven at times, the game successfully provided the wider arena combat and character range that define the Sparking! series.
