GamePad Stand
ゲームパッドプレイスタンドA simple, non-charging stand for the Wii U GamePad. Allows table top play.
Description
The Wii U GamePad Stand was the companion accessory to the charging cradle, but it served a different purpose. Where the cradle was designed to recharge the GamePad’s battery, the stand was simply a plastic display and resting base that held the controller upright for use or storage.
The stand is a lightweight black piece with a shallow slot that matches the GamePad’s curved underside. Unlike the cradle, it has no electrical contacts or power input, it’s purely mechanical. Nintendo intended it for situations where you wanted to prop the GamePad up, such as watching video content, browsing the internet, or playing games that used the touchscreen while the controller was stationary.
The stand was bundled with the premium Wii U set at launch in 2012, alongside the charging cradle, but not with the basic set. Later, Nintendo sold the stand and cradle together as a set.
