The Typing of the Dead: Zombie Panic
ザ·タイピング·オブ·ザ·デッドゾンビパニックBundled in Set
Description
A bizarre mash-up of rail-shooter and typing tutor, bundling Sega’s custom USB keyboard alongside Smilebit’s reworked House of the Dead 2 engine. Instead of blasting zombies with light guns, you dispatch them by accurately typing words and phrases that floated above their heads. The PlayStation edition presents a faithful Arcade mode in additition to an Original mode. It also added PC-born minigames, time-attack boss rushes, and a two-player Doubles challenge—all while swapping Dreamcasts for pastel PS2 backpacks. Mostly unheard of outside of Japan, the premise alone unsurprisingly lead Zombie Panic to find a cult niche. Sega’s slick execution of another arcade experience seals as worthwhile of a play.
