Description

Townsmen VR lets you interact directly with your medieval settlement. You can build and upgrade more than 20 unique structures, assign jobs to villagers, and expand across 13 islands. The VR perspective allows you to switch between a bird’s‑eye view and shrinking down to inhabit the world at eye level with your townsfolk. Interaction is playful and tactile: you can push windmills to start them, slap lazy workers with a fish, or pick up objects to use as improvised tools or weapons.

The campaign offers a fully voiced story with quests, while sandbox mode provides freedom to set your own conditions. Villagers farm, hunt, and craft goods, while you defend against pirates and raiders using soldiers, bows, and catapults. The PS5 version enhances immersion with haptic feedback and adaptive triggers on the Sense controllers, making actions like pulling a bowstring or handling tools feel more physical.

At release, Townsmen VR was praised for its inventive use of VR in the city‑building genre, though some reviewers noted that its pacing and humour leaned toward novelty. It is remembered now as a distinctive experiment in combining simulation depth with playful VR interaction, standing out among PSVR2’s catalogue for its blend of strategy and hands‑on creativity.
