PAL 60 Hz

PAL version games supporting a 60 Hz option (or in some rare cases, requiring 60 Hz output!). PAL analogue video was traditionally 50 Hz or 50 fields / 25 frames per second. This often meant games designed in Japan and the United States, operating at 60 Hz, would often simply run slower on PAL systems unless specifically retimed/optimised. Prior to widespread adoption of flat panel displays with digital HDMI cabling where this all became rather redundant, 60 Hz output became quietly popular allowing native/correct timing on PAL TV displays, which at this stage were often multi-system compatible.
