NTSC
The NTSC region in gaming refers territories e.g. North America, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines and select Pacific island nationsโthat adopted the National Television System Committee (NTSC) analog video standard. NTSC games are designed to output at 60 Hz (two interlaced fields per frame, 30 FPS) in standard-definition 480i/480p and typically employ region-lockout, preventing them from running natively on other hardware without mods or adapters. In the HD-era, this conception and distinction is not relevant or applicable.
