Poké Ball Plus

モンスターボール Plus

A spherical controller that doubles as a Poké Ball and a Pokémon GO accessory, featuring motion controls, HD rumble, lights, and sound effects to simulate catching and carrying Pokémon.

Description

The Poké Ball Plus is designed to replicate the feel of throwing and holding a Poké Ball. It contains a clickable control stick in the centre, a hidden top button, motion sensors, HD rumble, LEDs, and a small speaker. These features combine to create the illusion that a Pokémon is inside: the ball lights up, vibrates, and plays cries when you catch or interact with one.

In Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!, the device replaces the Joy‑Con as a one‑handed controller. You move with the stick, press to confirm actions, and simulate throws with a flick of the wrist. The immersive design makes catching Pokémon feel more physical, while the built‑in rumble and sound effects reinforce the experience. Each Poké Ball Plus includes the Mythical Pokémon Mew as a digital bonus, which can be redeemed in Let’s Go or later in Sword and Shield.

The Poké Ball Plus also connects to Pokémon GO. It acts as a Pokémon GO Plus device, letting you spin PokéStops and attempt catches without using your phone directly. You can transfer a Pokémon from Let’s Go into the ball and take it for a stroll in the real world. Walking charges up rewards and gives the Pokémon experience points, while the ball responds with lights and sounds as if the Pokémon is reacting inside. It is one of Nintendo’s most distinctive recent peripherals, blending hardware and fantasy in a way that makes players feel closer to the Pokémon world.
