Shinsei

新正工業株式会社

Description

Shinsei Kogyo Co., Ltd., was a manufacturer commonly engaged by Bandai for toy production. This notably included Famicom games as Bandai held an autonomous self-manufacturing license from Nintendo. Shinsei were often named on the packaging due to being the physical manufacturer, which granted them legal standing as the product’s producer. Shinsei merged and rebranded to Yutaka Co., Ltd. (株式会社ユタカ) in 1990. They merged with fellow Bandai subsidiary Angel in 2003 to form Popy Co., Ltd. (株式会社ポピー), reviving the well known 1970s toy manufacturer. In 2007 Popy was merged with other Bandai entities, such as B-AI, to form Plex Co., Ltd. (株式会社プレックス).
