Atsumare!! Made in Wario
あつまれ!! メイド イン ワリオA rapid-fire party game built around hundreds of five-second microgames, expanding the original Game Boy Advance release with competitive modes for up to four players.
Description
Atsumare!! Made in Wario, released internationally as WarioWare, Inc.: Mega Party Game!, is a remake of the GBA original Made in Wario. It places players through a rapid sequence of minimal challenges involving activities such as dodging obstacles, identifying objects, pressing buttons at the correct moment, and completing parodies of older Nintendo games. Each challenge provides only a brief instruction before beginning, with the speed increasing until the player makes too many mistakes.
The new multiplayer modes reorganise these microgames into competitions requiring quick reactions, concentration, and occasional cooperation. Some modes ask players to pass a single controller after each challenge, while others involve simultaneous movement, survival rounds, territorial contests, or attempts to distract the active participant. Up to four players are supported and one mode uses the GBA cable as an additional screen. Solo players can access standard stage progression, mixed microgame challenges, a time attack, and an expanded catalogue that allows individual games to be practised at fixed speeds and difficulty levels.
The extremely short games, absurd humour, varied visual styles, and constant changes of pace make it energetic and easy to introduce at gatherings. Its multiplayer structure produces unpredictable reactions from simple controls, although the quality of individual modes varies and several depend heavily on having an enthusiastic group. For players of the original, there are no surprises with all the reused content, and several longer bonus games even removed. Despite this reduction in solo play, the emphasis on multiplayer has brought the most out of this title.
