This unit is a first‑batch Australian Super Nintendo Entertainment System, purchased the week of the official launch and distributed by Mattel during their final years handling Nintendo products locally. It’s the rarer no‑game “Control Deck” variant, sold alongside the more common Super Mario World bundle, and unusually included an NES‑model RF Switch — a known launch‑month quirk caused by Mattel using leftover NES accessories in the absolute earliest SNES packs. Its serial number also falls squarely within the lowest PAL ranges shipped for launch, confirming it as day‑one stock from the very first shipment.
