Dream On Volume 18
Like the rest of the Dream On line, a marketing tool and a key way to sample games before buying. Today a collectible snapshot of the Dreamcast’s library at a specific moment in its lifecycle.
Description
Dream On Volume 18 was part of Sega Europe’s Dream On series of PAL-region demo discs for the Dreamcast, distributed through official Dreamcast magazines in the UK, France, Spain, and Germany, and Australia. These discs were the Dreamcast-era successor to the Sega Saturn’s Sega Flash series, offering playable demos and video previews of upcoming titles. Volume 18 was released in 2001 towards the console’s decline in Europe. Like other entries in the series it was packaged in a slimline jewel case with region‑specific magazine branding.
The disc provided the full game of Sega Swirl, a colour‑matching puzzle game themed around the Dreamcast’s swirl logo, where players cleared groups of matching swirls for points in both solo and multiplayer modes.
Additionally, the disc contained demos of:
- Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX
- Ducati World
- Sega Extreme Sports
- Virtua Tennis
