Card Bout
The Dreamcast entry in the long-running Japanese wrestling series, delivering deep simulation-style gameplay, a massive roster, and extensive customization options that set it apart from arcade-style wrestling titles.
Description
Fire ProWrestling D brought the series’ signature timing-based grappling system to the Dreamcast, offering over 220 playable wrestlers from promotions around the world, plus an additional 44 downloadable characters for a total of 264.
Players could compete in a variety of match types, from standard singles and tag bouts to hardcore stipulations like barbed wire deathmatches, exploding cage matches, and MMA-style contests. The game also featured robust tournament modes, a “Victory Road” career path, and a highly detailed Edit Mode for creating custom wrestlers, referees, and even championship belts. Network Mode allowed for data exchange and move downloads, making it one of the most feature-rich wrestling games of its era. This blend of strategic gameplay, authentic move sets, and staggering roster depth, reflects on the series’ detail to realism.
