Marie & Elie no Atelier: Salburg no Renkinjutsushi 1 & 2 is a compilation of the first two entries in Gust’s long-running Atelier series. This edition combines Atelier Marie Plus and Atelier Elie, offering enhanced visuals and bonus content while preserving the charming alchemy-based gameplay that defines the franchise. Players take on the roles of Marie and Elie, two aspiring alchemists navigating the whimsical town of Salburg, gathering ingredients, crafting items, and fulfilling quests within time-limited scenarios. The Dreamcast version was enhanced with peripherals like the VGA Box and Visual Memory Unit.

The release is infamous for an unexpected inclusion. Many titles in this era included wallpapers, screensavers etc. on the disc if inserted into the PC. However this game included files infected with a computer virus that could wipe drives and damage system firmware. The publisher had to quickly respond including issuing replacement discs.
