An aerial combat experience that places players in high‑speed jet dogfights, emphasising reflexes, precision, and the exhilaration of manoeuvring through dangerous skies.
Description
G-LOC Air Battle for the Game Gear is a scaled-down interpretation of Sega AM2’s arcade jet combat title, adapted for handheld play with simplified mechanics and condensed visuals. While it retains the first-person dogfight structure and missile-lock system familiar from its After Burner lineage, this version trades sweeping motion for compact stage loops and faster repetition.
Compared to console counterparts, it feels more like a reflex test than a simulation, emphasising the arcade elements of short, high-speed sessions. Ideal for the systems battery life! Its inclusion of system link support for two-player matches was an uncommon feature for the platform (less than a third titles), adding a trace of competitive play to an otherwise solitary format.
