A major expansion of the series that introduces tag-team combat, a much larger roster, character transformations, and story content covering some of the most popular arcs from the original anime.
Description
NARUTO: Gekitō Ninja Taisen! 3 follows the events of the anime from the Chūnin Exams through the Search for Tsunade storyline, substantially expanding the cast and content available compared to its predecessors. The roster grows to over 30 characters, adding Tsunade, Itachi Uchiha, Kisame Hoshigaki, and numerous upgraded versions of existing fighters. A new transformation system enables certain characters to change forms during battle, while tag-team mechanics allow players to switch between partners and unleash powerful cooperative techniques. These create considerably more strategic depth than the first two games while retaining the accessible controls that made the series popular.
Combat remains focused on fast-paced arena battles played along a primarily two-dimensional plane using fully 3D cel-shaded visuals. Characters can perform chakra techniques, substitutions, throws, air combos, and ultimate attacks faithful to their anime counterparts. Additional modes include 3v1 battles, survival challenges, story content, extensive unlockables, and a shop system where players spend earned currency on new characters, music, artwork, and other bonuses.
The visual presentation was among the strongest on the GameCube for an anime adaptation. Character animations, special effects, and voice acting closely replicate the television series, while the expanded roster finally allowed many of the franchise’s most popular ninjas to become playable. Gekitō Ninja Taisen! 3 is widely regarded as the point where the series evolved from a solid licensed fighter into one of the premier anime fighting games of its generation, with subsequent entries only refining balance and add even more characters.
