Chun Soft

A foundational Japanese studio closely associated with early console role-playing game design and later genre experimentation. Best known for its work on the earliest Dragon Quest entries and for creating the Mystery Dungeon roguelike lineage, the company also helped popularise the “sound novel” style of narrative adventure, and later became part of Spike Chunsoft through merger.
