VAP (Video & Audio Project) are a giant Japanese entertainment conglomerate founded in 1981 as a core subsidiary of Nippon Television Holdings, Inc. (NTV). They are a major record label, distributor, and financier of some of the most popular anime franchises. During the 1990s they pushed into consumer software, however they outsourced almost the entirety of their software development.
