Grandia II ~Melodia~ was included with the Japanese “Special Package” edition of the Dreamcast game. Rather than presenting the complete soundtrack, it functioned as a sampler, containing a handful of vocal arrangements and remixes alongside short pieces drawn from Grandia: Digital Museum. Noriyuki Iwadare, the series’ long‑time composer, oversaw the project, with Kaori Kawasumi providing vocals on tracks such as “Canção do Povo – Little Shelter MIX” and “A Deus – Defying the Gods MIX.” The disc ran just over twenty minutes, making it more of a collector’s bonus than a comprehensive album.

Compared to the full Grandia II Original Soundtrack, which spanned multiple discs and captured the breadth of Iwadare’s score, Melodia was deliberately slight, intended to entice players toward the larger body of music. Its inclusion in the Special Package mirrored a broader trend of Japanese RPGs bundling mini‑soundtracks or drama CDs, similar to how titles like Lunar or Tales of Destiny offered music samplers as part of their premium editions.
