Description
Kinect Adventures! features five energetic mini games that use full-body tracking to get players jumping, dodging, and flailing through obstacle courses, rapids, and underwater challenges. The game emphasises accessibility and fun, with quick three-minute sessions and drop-in/drop-out multiplayer, making it ideal for families and casual players.
One of its standout features was the Kinect camera’s ability to snap goofy action shots mid-game, which players could view, save, or share online via the long-defunct KinectShare web site – so very 2010. Despite its simplicity, Kinect Adventures! became the best-selling Xbox 360 game of all time, moving over 24 million units worldwide, mostly thanks to its bundled status and broad appeal. Like many of the Kinect titles that would come out, it would try to hook into the momentum Nintendo had built with the Wii software library. Never to truly match it, this provided its own experiences and opportunities sometimes it seemed was forgotten about.
