Description
The Ejector Tool was a small plastic accessory originally bundled with the official Expansion Pak for the simple purpose of safely remove the Jumper Pak or Expansion Pak from the memory slot at the front of the Nintendo 64 console.
Because the modules fit very tightly into the slot, many players struggled to pull them out by hand with risking damage to the console or themselves. The ejector tool slid into the groove on top of the Pak and acted as a lever, allowing it to be popped out cleanly.
Nintendo’s manuals recommended keeping the tool handy for future swaps but over time, most people misplaced the tool, leading to improvised solutions: using the plastic cover of the Jumper Pak, a coin, or even a butter knife to pry it loose. Today, the original ejector tool is considered a minor collectible, often costing as much as a used game. 3D‑printed replicas and aftermarket versions also ‘fill the gap’.
