A Hudson Soft‑produced multiplayer adapter for the Super Famicom (and compatible Super Nintendo models), released in the mid‑1990s, most famously bundled with Super Bomberman 2. It allows up to five controllers to be connected for simultaneous play in supported games.
Description
Designed primarily for Hudson’s Super Bomberman series, the Super Multitap 2 plugs into the second controller port of the Super Famicom, leaving the first port free for Player 1’s pad. The adapter provides four additional controller inputs, enabling five‑player matches in compatible titles. While Super Bomberman and Super Bomberman 2 are the best‑known examples, other releases, particularly sports and party games, also supported the multitap.
This is functionally identical to the original Super Multitap, the only difference is the design. The “2” model is styled after the Bomberman character’s head, with a rounded white body, pink “antenna” button, and labelled ports, making it both a functional accessory and a collectible piece of Bomberman memorabilia. The unit works across regions, so it can be used with PAL and NTSC SNES consoles as long as the game itself supports multitap play.
