Description
EarthBound has developed a cult status over the years. The game is a quirky, offbeat RPG that blends surreal humour in a coming-of-age journey. Set in a fictional modern-day world rather than the typical fantasy realm, the game follows a group of young children who, using psychic powers and everyday items, battle strange enemies like possessed appliances, hippies, and piles of puke. Beneath its eccentric surface lies a quietly profound story about friendship, identity, and the loss of innocence. The tone is whimsical and most definitely self-aware, often poking fun at RPG tropes, yet it occasionally shifting into the more unsettling or emotionally resonant. Maybe it is the mix of absurdity and sincerity that makes it so memorable.
This is my original copy from childhood, which I enjoyed thoroughly. Unlike most other RPGs of the era (particularly many Square and Enix titles) I never sold this copy after repeated regrets of losing access to many great games.
