Description

Lufia (Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals) is a turn-based JRPG game that did receive a PAL release. Published by Taito in Japan and Nintendo locally. The title blends overworld exploration with puzzle-focused dungeons common in the genre at the time. Its combat relies on an Initiative Point (IP) system, enabling characters to execute normal and special attacks according to accrued points. Character progression is driven by equipment upgrades rather than excessive level grinding. The game has a tight narrative and memorable soundtrack.

The SFC/SNES had a wealth of these types of games during what was a golden period for the genre. In this context, the fact Lufia is not better remembered and celebrated titles reflects mostly on its quality of peers than.
