Description
The Nintendo Switch AC Adapter is the included with every Nintendo Switch console and serves as its primary charging solution. It converts AC power from a wall outlet into regulated DC power for the console, ensuring optimal performance and battery health. The adapter supports a specific USB Power Delivery profile, supporting 5V/1.5A as the base profile and 15V/2.6A for the Switch console or dock. Compared with prior Nintendo power supplies, it is reduced in size.
The adapter features a fixed USB-C cable approximately 1.8 m long, providing flexibility for different setups. It works worldwide with 100–240V input (although the plug will need an adapter) and is UL-listed for safety compliance. This unit has the Australian plug on it, as designated by its SKU. While designed specifically for the Nintendo Switch family, it can also charge compatible accessories like the Pro Controller, up to 7.5W.
As an official accessory, the AC Adapter ensures reliable power delivery for handheld gaming, docked TV mode, and continuous play while charging. The change to USB-C substantially helps maintain the system’s portability, and reflects the modernised approach it has taken to power delivery.
