CD Single featuring Sega Saturn campaign theme song.
Description
One of the most iconic and bizarrely brilliant ad blitzes in gaming history, launched by Sega to promote the Saturn console. The campaign starred Segata Sanshiro, a fictional martial arts master played by actor Hiroshi Fujioka (famous for his role as the original Kamen Rider). His mission was to forcefully compel people to play Sega Saturn, quite literally. He suplexed slackers, karate-chopped distractions, and even launched himself into space to save Sega from a missile. The ads were intense, hilarious, and memorable.
The campaign’s theme song, “Sega Saturn, Shiro!”, was released as a commercial audio CD in 1998 by Warner Music Japan. It featured vocals by Fujioka himself and Ichiro Tomita, with lyrics by Koji Ando and music by Fumio Okui. The CD included multiple versions of the track, including a karaoke version.
