An action role‑playing adventure where a cursed knight serves a witch, blending dark fantasy with humour, and exploring themes of servitude, corruption, and the struggle for autonomy.
Description
The Witch and the Hundred Knight is a dark fantasy action RPG. The Hundred Knight is summoned and tasked with spreading the poisonous swamp of his master and witch, Metallia, across the world. Gameplay unfolds from an isometric perspective, combining hack-and-slash combat with weapon chaining, stat-altering “facets,” and a calorie-based stamina system that governs exploration and enemy consumption.
The narrative leans heavily into moral ambiguity, with Metallia’s quest framed as both vengeance and existential defiance. You can raid villages, manipulate karma, and unlock story branches that challenge conventional heroism. While praised for its tone and character design, the game drew criticism for many technical issues, repetitive levels, and poor pacing. Overal this was the developers first major foray into 3D action RPGs, which laid the groundwork for its sequel and PS4 port, Revival Edition.
