Infinite Warfare propels the series into the far future, blending cinematic spacefaring warfare with fast-paced competitive multiplayer and a retro-themed Zombies co‑op mode.
Description
Infinite Warfare shifts the battlefield to the solar system, playing as Captain Nick Reyes, a Special Operations pilot unexpectedly promoted to command after a devastating surprise attack on Earth. Leading the remaining coalition forces against the fanatical Settlement Defense Front, Reyes must wage war across hostile planets, asteroid fields, and zero‑gravity environments. The campaign mixes boots‑on‑the‑ground firefights with aerial dogfights in the Jackal fighter, delivering a mix of grounded military drama and sci‑fi spectacle.
Multiplayer introduces Combat Rigs: specialised exosuits tailored to different playstyles, alongside fluid movement, player‑focused map design, and deep customisation. Players can join one of four Mission Teams to earn unique rewards. The cooperative Zombies in Spaceland mode offers a sharp tonal shift: a neon‑soaked 1980s amusement park overrun by the undead, complete with rides, a working rollercoaster, and an era‑appropriate soundtrack. Across its three pillars of Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies, Infinite Warfare aimed to honour the franchise’s large‑scale war roots while boldly exploring new frontiers. Although the single player campaign had good critical reception fans frankly had had enough of the science fiction direction the series had taken.
