Yoshi’s Woolly World (Green Yoshi Amiibo Bundle)
ヨッシーウールワールド amiiboセットA side-scrolling platformer that builds a world from textiles and other craft materials. Its relaxed tone conceals a dense game, with intricate stage design, two-player co-op, transformation sequences, and optional challenges for completionists. This limited edition bundles the Yarn Yoshi amiibo.
Description
Yoshi’s Woolly World begins on peaceful Craft Island, where Kamek transforms nearly the entire population of woollen Yoshis into bundles of Wonder Wool and scatters them across the world. Two survivors set out to recover their friends, travelling through forests, deserts, mountains, fortresses, and other handcrafted environments before confronting Kamek and Baby Bowser.
Yoshi retains his familiar flutter jump, tongue attack, ground pound, and ability to swallow enemies, but produces yarn balls instead of eggs. These can bind enemies, fill empty platform outlines, reveal passages, and interact with craft-based scenery. Loose threads may be pulled to unravel hidden parts of each stage. Collectibles now include pieces of Wonder Wool in each level that knit a new patterned Yoshi. Transformation sections temporarily turn Yoshi into different forms, changing the movement rules for a short challenge. The complete campaign can be played cooperatively by two players, with each controlling a Yoshi. Classic Mode provides the standard platforming challenge, while Mellow Mode grants wings for easier navigation.
The series has its origins in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island. Good-Feel also draws directly from its earlier Kirby’s Epic Yarn, but increases the pace and integrates the textile theme more deeply into Yoshi’s established abilities. It marked Yoshi’s first starring home-console platform game since Yoshi’s Story and was later adapted for Nintendo 3DS as Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World. The textile driven design would be further expanded in Yoshi’s Crafted World.
This limited edition included the Yarn Yoshi amiibo, which activates Double Yoshi mode and can store unlocked patterns. Numerous other amiibo unlock designs based on Nintendo characters such as Mario, Link, Kirby, Samus, and Donkey Kong.
Critics praised its handcrafted visual identity, music, responsive controls, cooperative play, varied stage mechanics, and extensive hidden content, although some found the basic route too gentle and completion requirements occasionally repetitive. Retrospectively it is one of the Wii U’s strongest 2D platformers and one of Good-Feel’s most successful uses of a material-based art style.
