A third‑person stealth adventure where you play an undead assassin who bends shadows to your will to infiltrate, evade, and eliminate your enemies.
Description
Aragami casts you as the titular spirit warrior, summoned from the afterlife by a mysterious girl named Yamiko. Bound to her cause, you must infiltrate heavily guarded fortresses to free her from captivity, using supernatural powers tied to darkness itself. Your abilities include shadow‑to‑shadow teleportation, creating areas of darkness to hide in, turning invisible, and summoning deadly constructs like shadow dragons to dispatch foes. Light is your greatest enemy as it drains your power, so staying in the dark and planning routes carefully is essential.
The game’s design draws inspiration from classic stealth titles like Tenchu and Mark of the Ninja, emphasising patience, observation, and creative problem‑solving over brute force. Levels are open‑ended, allowing for ghost‑like non‑lethal runs or ruthless predator‑style playthroughs, with a scoring system that rewards your chosen approach. Stylised cel‑shaded visuals and a mystical, feudal‑Japan‑inspired world give Aragami a distinctive atmosphere, while its narrative slowly unravels the truth about your summoner, your own past, and the cost of your resurrection. The result is a stealth experience that feels modern yet also steeped in the traditions of the genre.
