Steins;Gate: Hiyoku Renri no Darling

Steins;Gate: Hiyoku Renri no Darling (later localised as Steins;Gate: My Darling’s Embrace) is an alternate-world spin-off to the original Steins;Gate, rather than a continuation of the main plot. It deliberately sets aside the original concept in favour of a fan pleasing everyday romantic-comedy scenarios with the Lab Members.

The setup places Okabe in the δ world line, where repeated D-Mail experiments have changed the lab situation: the Lab Members have increased from six to eight, new Future Gadgets are being made, and the lab is struggling with expenses. From there, the story branches into lighter “what-if” routes focused on Okabe’s relationships and comic trouble with the cast, rather than the life-or-death structure of the original.

Mechanically, it keeps the Phone Trigger system, where interactions through Okabe’s phone — including calls and emails — influence the route and story direction. That makes it feel familiar to players of the original Xbox 360 Steins;Gate, while the tone and scenario structure make it much more of a character-focused comedy companion piece. Like the original, it is notable for being a part of the unusually strong Japanese visual novel/adventure presence on the platform.
