Forza Motorsport

The first entry in Microsoft’s racing simulation series, it introduced realistic physics, licensed cars, and online multiplayer, establishing the foundation for one of the most enduring racing franchises. This is a sealed copy from a bundle.

Description

Forza Motorsport was positioned a direct competitor to Sony’s Gran Turismo, aiming to deliver a simulation racing experience that balances accessibility with depth. The game features 231 licensed cars across nine classes, ranging from everyday commuter vehicles like the Honda Civic to high‑end supercars such as the Ferrari Enzo and race prototypes like the Audi R8. Each car can be tuned and upgraded with extensive parts, covering engine, aerodynamics, and chassis modifications, while players also customise vehicles visually with decals and body kits. Tracks include 17 locations, mixing real circuits and fictional designs.

Career mode spans multiple disciplines, from beginner races to endurance events, and covers series such as Super GT and Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters. Players progress by earning credits, purchasing cars, and unlocking championships. To ease players into simulation racing, assists such as an ideal racing line, anti‑lock brakes, and traction control are available, but can be disabled for greater challenge. Multiplayer is a major feature: Forza Motorsport supports up to eight players online via Xbox Live, alongside split‑screen and system link options. This online functionality distinguishes it from many contemporaries, though servers for the original Xbox were retired in 2010.

Reception at launch was highly positive with praise for the physics engine, car variety, and online play, positioning Forza Motorsport as a credible rival to Gran Turismo. The game sold strongly, and was a landmark debut that established the series’ reputation and laid the groundwork for its evolution across Xbox generations.
