Description
Forza Motorsport 6 is the sixth mainline entry in Microsoft’s flagship simulation racing series, released exclusively for Xbox One, with a free‑to‑play Windows 10 version (Forza Motorsport 6: Apex). It marked the franchise’s 10th anniversary and significantly expanded on Forza 5 with over 450 cars at launch (more than double its predecessor) and 27 tracks, including seven new locations, featuring both real‑world circuits and fictional courses.
Two major gameplay additions were night racing and wet weather conditions, each affecting handling and visibility in realistic ways. The career mode, called Stories of Motorsport, offered around 70 hours of structured racing across five themed volumes, while Showcase Events let players tackle unique challenges, from historic motorsport moments to one‑on‑one races against Top Gear’s Stig. Multiplayer supported up to 24 cars on track, and the physics engine aimed for authentic vehicle behavior across disciplines.
The game launched to strong reviews for its visuals, content depth, and refined handling, cementing it as one of the most comprehensive console racing sims of its generation. Partnerships with Ford (featuring the 2017 Ford GT on the cover) and Top Gear added extra automotive culture flair, even as the latter’s in‑game role was scaled back from previous entries.
