A multi-player platform fighting game based on the anime series, combining simple spell attacks, stage hazards, support characters, and item-based battles across large multi-level arenas.
Description
Konjiki no Gash Bell!! Go! Go! Mamono Fight!! presents a dream tournament organised by Dr. Riddles rather than directly recreating the anime’s story. Its cast includes 16 playable mamodo drawn from the series through the Faudo storyline, with their human partners appearing nearby and calling out spells during battle. Four story scenarios follow Zatch, Tia, Kanchome, and Ponygon through a succession of fights accompanied by lengthy voiced conversations.
Battles resemble a simplified Dairantō Smash Brothers, with up to four characters simultaneously fighting on side-view stages containing platforms, traps, and interactive mechanisms. Players use basic physical attacks and character-specific spells to reduce life, score points, or knock opponents from the arena, depending on the selected rules. Items and support characters such as Big Boing and Mecha Vulcan can interfere with a match, giving battles a deliberately unpredictable party-game quality. The controls use only a small number of buttons and are easy to learn, although individual spells are not explained particularly well and can need familiarity with the anime or reading the Japanese menus.
The cel-shaded characters, original voice cast, exaggerated spell effects, and comedic presentation encapsulates the appearance and tone of the television series well. Four-player competition provides its greatest appeal, with stage hazards and items keeping casual matches lively. However, its small roster, shallow combat system, limited modes, and weak original scenarios restrict its replay value. Overall an enjoyable party fighter for fans of the franchise, in an entry that was only released domestically.
