Ultra High Speed HDMI Cable
ウルトラ ハイスピード HDMIケーブルA Nintendo branded “Ultra High Speed” HDMI cable for use with the Nintendo Switch 2.
Bundled in Set
Description
The Nintendo Switch 2 utilises HDMI 2.1 to connect to an external display. The original Switch, and its supplied cable, was the older HDMI 1.4 standard. Nintendo officially advises the Wii U/Switch HDMI cable is not compatible with the Switch 2, which is not technically correct. However, it would not be capable of transmitting the Switch 2 at higher resolutions and frame rates, such as 4K/60 or 1440p/120.
Ultra High Speed HDMI usually refers to HDMI 2.1, which was the latest standard at the time of the Switch 2 launch. The Nintendo Switch 2 Dock internally converts from DisplayPort 1.4 to HDMI. Its outputs support technical features of the HDMI 2.1 standard, such as variable refresh rate, but does not otherwise require the bandwidth offered beyond HDMI 2.0. This is generally in line with the resolutions and frame rates the system targets and its computationally capable of achieving.
