Description
Goof Troop is a cooperative action-adventure game for the Super Nintendo, based on the Disney animated series. Players control Goofy and Max as they solve puzzles, collect items, and navigate five themed stages on Spoonerville Island to rescue Pete and PJ from bumbling pirates. Designed with teamwork in mind, the game features light combat, environmental interaction, and item-based progression. Its cheerful tone and accessible mechanics made it a standout for two-player play, though single-player mode is notably less dynamic.
This box is Mattel branded indicating an extremely early, first batch copy. About a month after the game’s release all new SNES releases were re-branded and distributed by Nintendo Australia, though Mattel‑branded stock lingered in shops for a while. The box I have is an original purchase – I have owned it since 1993. We rediscovered a handful of pre-1994 SNES boxes a couple decades later and have slowly re-purchased the appropriate matched games over time.
