Description

The Stand is an official reproduction of the original Virtual Boy Stand (VUE-003), released with the Virtual Boy for Nintendo Switch 2/Nintendo Switch. It is a dedicated support accessory for the peripheral. Because the Virtual Boy itself was a tabletop headset rather than a traditional handheld or home system, the stand was essential for proper use. It consists of a fairly sturdy tripod‑style base with an angle adjustment, and a locking mount that secures the console unit. It was packaged with the console as a standard component, though replacement stands were intended to be sold separately.

The design mimics the original, which sets the Virtual Boy to a height and angle for players to lean forward and view the stereoscopic display. The accessory is necessary for the system’s functionality, as the console cannot lay flat, nor does it have any head-mounted options. In theory the stand reduces strain on the user and prevents the headset from tipping or sliding during gameplay. Ultimately, the stand forms part of the Virtual Boy’s distinctive, unconventional design.
