Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity blends the large-scale, combo-heavy combat of the Warriors series with the world, characters, and lore of The Legend of Zelda. Set 100 years before the events of Breath of the Wild, the game begins when a mysterious, time-traveling Guardian warns Princess Zelda and her allies of the impending rise of Calamity Ganon. You play as Link, Zelda, Impa, and the four Champions: Mipha, Daruk, Revali, and Urbosa, as they rally Hyrule’s forces, pilot the Divine Beasts, and face off against waves of Bokoblins, Moblins, and other monstrous foes.

While it revisits key locations and characters from Breath of the Wild, Age of Calamity diverges from the established timeline, offering an alternate version of the Great Calamity where the heroes have a fighting chance to change destiny. Missions unfold across vast battle maps filled with hundreds of enemies, environmental objectives, and boss encounters, all tied together by cutscenes that expand on the relationships and struggles of Hyrule’s defenders.
