Description
Fantasy Life I: Guruguru no Ryū to Toki o Nusumu Shōjo (The Girl Who Steals Time) is a social simulation RPG. The Switch 2 Edition release digitally on the console’s launch in June 2025, a fortnight after the game’s general release on other platforms. This physical Switch 2 release came out a couple months later. It’s essentially the same game as the Switch version but enhanced for Switch 2 hardware.
Set on the mysterious island of Ginormosia, the game blends open‑world adventure with life simulation. Players can freely switch between 14 “Lives” (jobs), such as combat classes, crafting roles, or gathering skills, to shape their own play style. The story revolves around travelling between the island’s present and its thriving past 1,000 years ago, guided by a dragon’s fossil and a girl’s plea to save the world. Beyond questing, players can build and customise towns, terraform landscapes, and decorate homes, while multiplayer supports up to four players online or two locally.
On Switch 2, the game comfortably runs at up to 60fps with higher resolutions, improved shadow quality, and reduced load times (easily halved compared to Switch 1). Although the PS5 release is still better, the game’s style makes it far less reliant on high quality graphics making the Switch 2 more than good enough given the benefit of portability. The content is identical in all releases.
The game is released on a hybrid Switch 1 + 2 game card.
