Eye Shade Holder
アイシェードホルダーA plastic frame that clips onto the front of the Nintendo Virtual Boy headset and holds the foam visor (the eye shade) in place, blocking external light so you can see the stereoscopic display clearly.
Description
The Eye Shade Holder is a lightweight, curved plastic bracket that snaps into small slots on either side of the headset’s display housing. The foam visor — a soft, contoured piece that rests against your face — attaches to this holder. Together, they create a light‑sealed viewing area, improving immersion and reducing eye strain.
Over time, the foam visor can deteriorate, and the holder itself can crack or break at the mounting tabs due to repeated removal or age‑related brittleness. Without it, the visor can’t be mounted, and the Virtual Boy becomes uncomfortable to use in bright environments. There are some modern replacement holders made to match the original Nintendo specifications, usually sans-Nintendo logo. However this one is original along with the remainder of the Virtual Boy unit.
