World Grand Prix

Description

An early top-down racing title, where you race purely against the clock. Unlike Namco’s Pole Position (arcade/Atari) it lacks official branding or opponents on track. Coming from Japan, it reflects the era’s arcade-inspired home games: fast, simple, and with colorful, parallax backgrounds that were visually impressive for 8-bit consoles. While it doesn’t have the realism of Hang-On or Enduro Racer, it’s a smooth, engaging snapshot of early console racing before the genre grew more complex.
